Paymenex Limited, a UK-registered financial technology company, is the owner and developer of the OrbitOS digital financial technology, which was deployed in Cameroon under a partnership between Paymenex and AfricaSoft Explorer. Under a revenue-sharing agreement, AfricaSoft was authorised to operate Paymenex's financial technology solutions and business model in Cameroon. AfricaSoft, in turn, entered into a separate revenue-sharing arrangement with the Cameroon Postal Services (CAMPOST) for the operation of the Paymenex solution and business model under the brand name "CampostMoney," which was invented, designed, developed, and deployed by Paymenex Limited for use in the Campost and Africasoft partnership business for the mutual benefit of the stakeholders.
Following a long-standing profit-sharing partnership commencing in 2018, Paymenex deployed and continuously maintained the CampostMoney solution for use by CAMPOST, AfricaSoft, and their customers. As part of this deployment, Paymenex provided extensive hands-on training to CAMPOST's team in Yaoundé, including detailed instruction on the operational logic, business model, and proprietary processes underpinning the OrbitOS system. This training enabled stakeholders to fully understand and operate the digital financial services framework designed by Paymenex. Unfortunately, as of 28 March 2025, CAMPOST and AfricaSoft have been found to be operating a cloned version of our proprietary system using the same CampostMoney branding and serving the same customers, without our knowledge, consent, authorization, licensing or settlement, in direct breach of our copyright, intellectual property, and contractual rights. This was done despite an agreed offer for a long-term subscription and license renewal valued at over USD $2.7 million, which Paymenex had been awaiting for over 15 months, based on commitments conveyed by AfricaSoft and CAMPOST representatives.
We are currently pursuing binding arbitration proceedings in England and Wales, and legal action in Cameroon to seek justice and enforce our rights regarding the unauthorized use of our software, assets, and branding.
If you are a current or former customer, merchant or agent of the CampostMoney platform, or you received services under this brand, such as payment collection, please be advised that any transactions processed after 28 March 2025 are not connected to the original OrbitOS system provided by Paymenex Limited. You may be interacting with an unauthorized or infringing system.
This notice serves as a public disclosure of the current legal status of the CampostMoney digital platform and the unauthorized continuation of its operations.
We hereby notify and place on record with all relevant institutions and regulatory bodies, including:
We reserve all rights to seek remedy for breach of partnership agreement, fiduciary duty and misconduct, misuse of our intellectual property, financial technology systems, customer acquisition models, and brand identity under applicable international and Cameroonian law.
